Free Books Delivered to Your Doorstep: A Must for Florida Families Who Love to Read

| |

As a mom who treasures bedtime stories and quiet reading moments with my son, I know how powerful books can be—not just for learning, but for bonding, imagination, and confidence. That’s why I’m excited to share this opportunity with other Orlando families.

Nearly a million kids in Florida are reading below grade level, but there’s a program that’s working to change that, and it’s completely free.

About New Worlds Reading

New Worlds Reading is a Florida statewide literacy program that delivers nine free books per school year to eligible students in VPK through 5th grade. Each book comes with simple activities to encourage at-home reading, and books are available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and braille.

So far, more than 11 million books have been shipped across Florida, and the results speak for themselves—students enrolled in the program experienced up to 70 percent more growth in reading achievement from August to May compared to eligible students who were not yet enrolled.

This isn’t just about boosting test scores—it’s about helping kids discover a love of reading that lasts a lifetime.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for New Worlds Reading, a child must:

  • Be enrolled in VPK through 5th grade
  • Attend a Florida public school, charter school, or VPK program
  • Be identified as not yet meeting grade-level expectations in reading

If your child meets the criteria, enrollment is quick and easy.
