Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After – A Parent’s Guide
The show is inside the Sunset Showcase Theater and stars the Magic Mirror from Snow White as the narrator. He invites the audience to consider the stories of several Disney villains. And soon we are met with appearances from Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.

Each villain performs a brief song, rehashing their story and traits. Each one is essentially making the case that they are the most misunderstood.
A Closer Look at the New Villains Show for Kids and Parents
For kids, this show is an interesting way to introduce the idea of perspective and egocentric points of view. It’s also a good jumping-off point to talk about empathy and what happens when someone becomes too self-centered or focused only on their desires.
The music is bold and theatrical, and the lighting and visuals are attention-grabbing. Families with younger kids may want to be prepared for some intense moments, but overall, it’s not too scary. Our son was captivated by the colorful set pieces and the way the story unfolded through a mix of action, narration, and musical performances.

Since I knew about the Magic Mirror’s role in the show, and how he essentially *has* to work for the Evil Queen, I prepared him that none of the villains are trying to hurt the audience. And explained that we should see what the Magic Mirror has to say about all this.
Parenting Pro-Tip: We brought along hearing protection since this is an indoor stage show with dramatic music and effects.
Know Before You Go:
- The show is indoors, which makes it a great break from the heat or rain.
- Multiple performances are scheduled each day, about every 30 minutes, check the My Disney Experience app or park map for times.
- The performance is 18 minutes.
- Kids who are sensitive to sound may benefit from headphones or earplugs, especially during the climactic musical numbers.
Something New Each Time
Another fun surprise? The show can actually change a little depending on the performance. Show Director Mark Renfrow hinted that the ending has slight variations and encouraged families to pay attention to the walls inside the theater, there may be subtle changes tied to your favorite villain.

“We feature 85 different villains and sidekicks,” Renfrow shared during a media preview. “So there’s a good chance your favorite is in there—either front and center or in a quick cameo.”
That rewatchability adds a fun layer for kids who love to look for clues or spot favorite characters.
If your child is starting to think about stories more deeply, or even if they just enjoy big performances with familiar characters, Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After makes for a memorable and thought-provoking break during your day at Hollywood Studios.
