Orlando Road Trip to Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach: A Family-Friendly Florida Beach Resort
Getting away as a family is a necessary part of parenting life. Yet, if not chosen carefully, a family vacation can easily become just a stressful as day-to-day life. I make it a point to plan family getaways that provide conveniences to make our time away as relaxing as possible, including for parents.
When an invitation came to visit the Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach for a hosted, two-night stay I jumped at the chance. Just about 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale, this all-suite resort would be a perfect addition to my family’s Disney Cruise departing from Port Everglades. It ended up being even more perfect than I imagined.

Deerfield Beach is a charming beachside town with easy access to South Florida cities, while providing a quieter alternative for couples and families. Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach’s multi-year renovation is impressive, offering a comfortable and low-stress experience for traveling families.
I count it among the best family-friendly Florida hotels because of its easy beach access, outdoor dining, and spacious rooms.
One of the most impactful features for us was the all-suite layout. Having a separate living area and two full bathrooms made mornings, evenings, and downtime noticeably easier with a child.
I especially enjoyed beginning each day out on the private balcony, taking in the ocean air and easing into the morning.
Family-Friendly Suites with Separate Living Space and Two Bathrooms
For families traveling with kids, the suite design makes a real difference. The separation between sleeping and living spaces allowed our son to wind down while adults still had room to relax. I particularly enjoyed being able to gently close the door between our bedroom and the living room while our son watched some kids’ shows, giving me some needed quiet while I finished getting ready.
I even had time to enjoy the reading chair in the room and actually get lost in the novel I brought along!
The second full bathroom was particularly helpful, eliminating bottlenecks during mornings and making transitions from pool time to dinner far less stressful. Every room is a suite at Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach, some with standing balconies and other larger units having balconies with chairs.

Safe Beach Access for Families with Young Children
One of the standout features for us as parents was how safe and manageable the beach access felt.
Instead of crossing a busy two-way road, the hotel sits along a one-way street, which made getting to the beach feel far less intimidating with a child. There’s also a wide, well-maintained sidewalk that leads toward the large Deerfield Beach pier, making it easy for families walking with kids, strollers, or beach gear.
We didn’t make it all the way to the pier during our stay, not because it wasn’t appealing, but because my son was having such a great time at the pool that he didn’t want to leave.
Pool and Beach Amenities
The pool quickly became a favorite for our son and served as the centerpiece of our daytime activities. We also appreciated that beach chairs on the cove-like beach are included, making it easy to enjoy the ocean without extra planning or rentals.
We used the beach chairs briefly on our first morning before shifting back to pool time. While we didn’t take advantage of the included bike rentals, they are available as part of the resort fee and add flexibility for families who enjoy exploring the surrounding area.

The on-site sundry shop ended up being more useful than expected. It had a solid selection of:

Convenient Parking and Arrival for Families Traveling with Kids
Practical details matter when traveling with children, and this hotel handles them well.
The parking garage offers direct elevator access, allowing guests to go straight from their car to their room without walking through the lobby or changing elevators. This made unloading bags, beach gear, and daily essentials far easier. Just check with the front desk on which elevator bank is best for your room location, North or South, and then be sure to park nearest to your corresponding elevator.
Inside the room, we also appreciated the QR code for housekeeping tipping, which eliminated the need for cash and simplified an often-forgotten detail.
Why My Family Loved Our Stay
This stay felt like the perfect exhale before a busy travel stretch. With a recent multi-year renovation, the resort feels fresh, calm, and thoughtfully updated, while still offering the space and comfort families actually need.
I loved easing into each morning on the balcony, coffee in hand, listening to the ocean before the day began. While parents of toddlers and preschoolers should know that in-room TV options were limited (we found Disney Channel and Cartoon Network, neither of which offers much dedicated preschool programming), the truth is, we spent very little time relying on screens thanks to the pool, beach, and overall atmosphere.
This stay also worked beautifully as a pre-cruise hotel before our Disney Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Being about a 30-minute drive from Port Everglades made logistics easy, and taking a slightly longer scenic route helped us avoid arriving too early for our assigned cruise arrival time.
More importantly, it allowed us to truly relax and shift into vacation mode before boarding the ship. The massages at Spa 950, ocean air, slow mornings, and relaxing atmosphere welcomed us into vacation mode, warmly.
Between the renovation, the spacious suites, the safe and walkable beach access, and it wasn’t just a place to sleep, but rather a true taste of the suite life.
