Known for their driving on the beach areas, Daytona is a classic beach for kids and families to enjoy sand, sun, and fun.

Frank Rendon Park

2705 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118

Located in an area where you can drive on the beach, a traditional Daytona area pastime might I add, this lovely park is smack dab on the waterfront, with wonderful amenities. Showers for bathing suit changes, parking, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a great playground await.

There is even a lifeguard stand overlooking the beach in front of the park if you choose to go for a swim with the kiddos.

Sun Splash Park

611 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118

Come to this cool park for the freshwater splash pad fun and stay for the 600 feet of direct beachfront access. With picnic tables and a playground, this is a no-brainer for summer and hot weather fun.

Bonus for having a lifeguard stand on site as well! Note seasonal closures in December, January, and February.

Breakers Oceanfront Park

13 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118

Next to Daytona Beach pier, this great public park is walking distance to shops, attractions and restaurants. With beach access and a splash pad, there’s no shortage of chances to get the kids in vacation mode – even if it’s a staycation! There’s also a sand volleyball court, and pier access.

Ponce Reserve

4280 S Atlantic Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127

This impressive park has a small nature-themed playground and multiple trails. All the nature trails connect together and there are maps along the way. Take a break and enjoy the view atop the small observation tower.

Nearby you’ll find kayak and canoe launches, fishing areas, and a boardwalk to the beach.

There is plenty of room to picnic. There’s even an ancient Indian archaeological site on the property. In other words, Ponce Preserve is perfect for a full day out with the family!

Dahlia Ave Park

3625 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118

Convenient bike racks and plenty of parking is a draw for this simple beachfront park, where picnics can be enjoyed first come first served at the pavilions before cooling off at the beach. A playground is also available, as are showers and restrooms as well.

Riverwalk Park

3459 S Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129

Riverwalk Park has so much to offer with no limit to the fun a family can have on the riverfront area set just across the bridge from the beach. Enjoy a concession stand where you can rent kayaks, or the event stage hosting regular local events. There is a fun playground, a wide trail for strolling or biking, fishing piers, picnic pavilions, and a splash pad!

For a really neat touch, they have sunscreen dispensers for parents needing to lather up the little ones.

Toronita Avenue Beach Park

4200 S. Atlantic Avenue, Wilbur-by-the-Sea

Plenty of parking for the beach, restrooms, showers and changing opportunities are all that await at the park proper, but the sandy shores of Wilbur-by-the-Sea’s non-beach driving area wait for families to enjoy a beach day.

This a beloved area for locals to park for beach access, so it is highly recommended that you get there early!

A Note on Storm Damage

Andrinopoulos Park and Edwin W. Peck Sr. Park are also great parks in the area, however, please check the website or call the park for updates, as they may be under extensive repair and renovation from past storm damage. You will also find notes on pavilion availability and other amenity limitations on each individual park website.

Daytona Beach Lenox Playground

Tucked just a bit back from the beach, this quiet play area is a nice place to relax after a day on the sand. With plenty of green space to run off energy and a covered/shaded playground, this is a local favorite.

Beachcomber Park

This simple but beloved park has a playground, fitness area, picnic area, and pavilions. This park also provides off-beach parking for visitors. Please note, the park does not have any bathroom facilities.
