New Rides and Shows Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom – a new land and more!
Some very exciting new rides, shows, and experiences are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Walt Disney Imagineering is reimagining Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom into a new land – inspired by the “tropical Americas.” Plus, a new Zootopia show is coming!
We’re sharing everything we know about these new attractions coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! There are lots of new rides and shows coming to Walt Disney World, and we know these new additions to Disney’s Animal Kingdom will make this great park even more exciting!

We’ve loved the latest additions to Disney World, like Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana, the new reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree, and of course – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Tropical Americas New Land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As part of their research, Imagineers looked at some of the most biodiverse areas on the planet in the regions just north and south of the equator here in the Western Hemisphere – the northern part of South America, stretching up into Central America.
New experiences inspired by “Encanto” – the Academy Award winning Walt Disney Animation Studios film – and the fan-favorite adventurer Indiana Jones are part of the reimagined land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
New Tropical Americas Land “Pueblo Esperanza” Will Have:
- Giant carousel featuring favorite animals from Disney stories in a carved wood style
- Indiana Jones thrill ride, through a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and a mythical creature deep within the temple
- First-ever “Encanto”-themed ride-through attraction, featuring the beloved Madrigal family from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film. Inside the Casita, Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest
- Fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories
- A large hacienda which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort
New Zootopia-inspired Show
Also at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new Zootopia-inspired show will come to the Tree of Life. This new show is replacing “It’s Tough to Be a Bug.”
This show based on “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Guests will visit the different biomes in the film, traveling along with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and other characters.
