Terra Play Center Lake Nona: 4 Things to Know About This Indoor Playground
Terra Play Center is now open in Lake Nona, offering a thoughtful indoor play experience for children ages 6 months to 8 years. I had the chance to visit during a hosted soft opening with my husband and our elementary school-age son. He loved exploring the physical equipment, especially the small rebounder, the net swing, and the light-up sensory pad.
With so many wonderful indoor playgrounds in the Orlando area, it is nice to have one that combines sensory needs with plenty of play options and a family-focused cafe. And it is a great asset to Lake Nona.

A Peek Inside Terra Play Center
Play Area
This indoor play space is completely enclosed and thoughtfully designed with sensory, physical, and even scientific play in mind. There are plenty of opportunities for gross motor activity, imaginative exploration, and calming moments, too.

There is a wooden and plexi-glass perimeter around the entire play area, with one entry gate. The play area has multiple types of equipment, with a small baby to toddler play pit closest to the cafe seating.
One corkscrew-style slide is at the far corner, while a treehouse-style tower stands proudly in front. When our son climbed to the top and peeked out at the cloud lamps hanging from the ceiling, he smiled so big when he realized he was among the clouds.

One thing to note: depending on how busy it is the environment can become noisy particularly when the air-powered ball machine, background music, and excited kids’ screams are all going. For those sensitive to sound, bringing some hearing protection could make things more comfortable.
Important: Parents need to remain present either in the cafe area or play area with socks on.
The play area is much larger and more elaborate than some other indoor options around Orlando. There are a variety of stations designed for different age levels and interests, including sensory-focused zones and climbing features. While it’s designed for young children, even my energetic grade-schooler found plenty to enjoy and burn off energy.

Café and Seating Area
Thanks to a video monitor and good visibility throughout the space, parents can keep an eye on the action. Everything is enclosed, making it easier to relax while your little ones explore.
The café is smaller than what you’ll find at places like The Burrow, but it has a clean, modern vibe. We tried a flat white and a strawberry milk with strawberry boba, both were delightful. The drink menu is reasonably priced, and there are a few snack options and bakery items to fuel your visit.

The seating area is limited, but it’s positioned with clear views into the play zone so parents and caregivers can stay connected.
