How Families Can Utilize Florida’s Fishing and Camping Tax Break 2025
Now that the weather is less oppressive than it is during the summer, it’s time to get outdoors. There is a new sales tax break to take advantage of: the Florida Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Sales Tax Holiday is happening now!
This sales tax holiday runs from Monday, September 8, 2025, through Wednesday, December 31, 2025. During this time, you can purchase a variety of outdoor and recreation items tax-free.

Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Sales Tax Holiday Eligible Items
This is a fantastic opportunity for families to save money on gear for outdoor adventures. You can get tax breaks on items like:
Camping Supplies
Camping lanterns, flashlights, camping stoves, portable hammocks, collapsible camping chairs, sleeping bags, and even tents.
- Sales price of $30 or less:Â Camping lanterns, Flashlights
- Sales price of $50 or less:Â Camping stoves, Portable Hammocks, Collapsible camping chairs, Sleeping bags
- Sales price of $200 or less:Â Tents
There are many places to go camping near Orlando, and if you want a few creature comforts, then plan a family trip to nearby cabins.

Fishing Supplies
Bait, fishing tackle, tackle bags, tackle boxes, reels, and rods.
- Sales price of $5 or less if sold individually or $10 or less if multiple items are sold together:Â Bait, Fishing tackle
- Sales price of $30 or less:Â Tackle Bags, Tackle boxes
- Sales price of $75 or less if sold individually or $150 or less if sold as a set:Â Reels, Rods

It’s easy to take advantage of the sales tax break on fishing supplies. It’s no fish story; there are plenty of places to go fishing with kids in Orlando and nearby.
