6 Snacks at Universal Orlando That My Kids Love

|

A day at the theme parks is always better when you get a special treat! Whenever I take my kids to Universal Orlando, we typically eat lunch or dinner elsewhere to save money, but I do let them pick out a treat and there are lots of great, affordable options around the parks.

6 Best Snacks at Universal Orlando

Here are my top 6 picks for snacks at Universal. Just keep in mind, pricing usually goes up every so often, so pricing may vary.

Refillable popcorn bucket – $12.29 ($2.19 for refill)

One of the best investments I’ve made is the Universal popcorn bucket. I have the original branded version, but they release themed ones every once in a while. The first time you purchase it, it’s $12.29, but it’s only $2.19 for refills, or only $1.80 with your annual pass discount. My kids love popcorn, so we get this cheap snack every time we go and you can purchase this at dozens of kiosks around both parks.

In the new and improved Minion Land, you can get a special banana-flavored popcorn for $3.93. To me, it’s reminiscent of kettle corn, so it’s nice to switch it up and get a sweeter flavor every once in a while.

Butterbeer souvenir mug –  $13.49 ($1.49 for soda refill)

Another good buy is the butterbeer souvenir mug that you can purchase at any of the Harry Potter locations that sell butterbeer.

The cost of the first drink and mug is $13.49 (less if you have an annual pass). Unfortunately, you cannot use it for butterbeer refills, but you can use it for discounted soda refills. Depending on the day and location, some team members will refill the mug with an Icee for a discounted price as well. That’s always what my kids choose, especially on a hot Florida day!

Minion Tots – $5.49

Who doesn’t love tater tots, especially when they’re shaped like Minions? For $5.49 you can get a side of Minion tots from the Minion Cafe in Universal Studios. These are not your average tater tots, though. They’re much larger and thicker and have a really great potato taste! Highly recommend grabbing it as a side, or many of the kids’ meals come with them too.

Fishy Green Ale – $5.49

Another fun alcohol-free beverage is the Fishy Green Ale that you can only find in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Cheaper than butterbeer, this fun, refreshing treat is a combination of mint and cinnamon flavors with blueberry popping boba balls at the bottom (made to look like fish eggs). This drink has mixed reviews, but I think it tastes great and my kids really enjoy it!

Flaming Moe – $8.99

This specialty drink can be found at Moe’s Tavern in the Simpsons area of Universal Studios. The orange soda-flavored drink is poured over dry ice in a souvenir glass that you can take home. The dry ice makes the drink bubble and smoke so it’s a treat for the eyes and the taste buds

Voodoo Doughnuts – Prices vary

We can’t make a Universal trip without stopping for some Voodoo Doughnuts at CityWalk. It’s the perfect early morning park breakfast or a sweet treat on the way home. For being in a tourist area, these doughnuts are surprisingly inexpensive. We can get some for the whole family for under $10. They have plenty of options to choose from (including vegan varieties) – whether you’re feeling like a simple cake doughnut or want something fancier with cereal or cookies on top.

The line can get extremely long at this shop however, so my best advice is to order ahead through the Universal app and them pick up at Voodoo’s outdoor kiosk.

Let’s wrap up with one of the newest, tastiest additions to Universal Studios Florida: the snacks at DreamWorks Land. There are some great eats all over the park, but especially this kid-friendly land. Happy snacking!
