Candy Wonderland Playground: Pricing, Socks, Snacks, and What to Expect (Palm Bay)

|

I recently made the hour-plus drive with my son from Orlando to check out Candy Wonderland Playground in Palm Bay. Right away, I could see why kids get so excited here. The bright candy-themed décor, multi-level play structures, and endless slides had him running from one activity to the next. From a mom’s perspective, the initial wow factor was worth it.

That said, it’s also one of those places where you’ll want to know the details before you go. Before you rush out the door, read over these quick tips from a mom’s perspective.

What to Expect at Candy Wonderland (Palm Bay)

Candy Wonderland sits inside an older shopping center that doesn’t look the cleanest from the outside. Walking in, though, the inside of the playground is colorful and well-kept. My son immediately took off exploring the slides, climbing zones, and ball pits. There’s even a sprinkles pit!

Although the candy theme cannot be beat, the many indoor playgrounds in Orlando are well-equipped, convenient, and most are not as pricey as Candy Wonderland.

Pricing and Socks

Admission is charged per child, and branded socks are required for both kids and adults. Even if you already have grip socks from another playground, you’ll need to purchase theirs. For us, it came out to about $32 total for one child and one adult with socks included.

It’s worth noting that once you’ve paid, there’s no re-entry, so make sure you’ve got everything you need before heading inside.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately, Candy Wonderland charges an additional 3% on all purchases.

Food and Snacks

Parents should know that outside food and drinks aren’t allowed. The snack options available for purchase are limited to canned sodas, Capri Suns, and small prepackaged items.

We ordered just two Capri Suns, which came to $7! Thankfully, there are plenty of restaurants and fast-food spots in the area, so I smartly grabbed us lunch before we entered and launched into the fun.

I guess The Burrow Cafe & Play has us spoiled!

PRO-TIP: Restrooms are in the back right corner, and there is a water fountain nearby to help with hydration.

Supervision and Safety

During our visit, there was one staff member in the play area. Since Candy Wonderland has so many play areas, I stayed extra alert and kept an eye on my son throughout.

For storage, there are cubbies at the entrance and shelves throughout the space where families can stash shoes and bags. Seating is available for parents along the sides, making it easier to watch your child while still having a spot to rest.

I stayed active and played with my son. There are plenty of places – like the awesome basketball section, where parents can play alongside their kids. A small soccer area located at the top of the large climbing structure is a unique location and was worth the trouble of me, as an adult, climbing to the top with my son.

NOTE: There is a separate area just for kids up to 3 years old.

Atmosphere

The playground itself is a big hit with kids, but there are a couple of things parents may want to be prepared for. Some of the on-screen game content isn’t entirely kid-friendly, so I steered my son away from those machines. The background music is heavy on Kidz Bop tracks, which is not my favorite.

Those details aside, the larger-than-life candy theme and multiple structures are truly marvelous. And I will take any excuse to drive out to the Space Coast area – Palm Bay is about 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach.

The Cherry on Top

Overall, my son had a fantastic time, and I loved watching him explore a space designed to be a kid’s dream come true. The candy theme sets it apart from other indoor playgrounds, and it’s a fun way to burn off energy.

From a parent’s perspective, the experience is best if you go in with realistic expectations: plan for the cost of branded socks, know you won’t be able to re-enter once you leave, and fuel up before you go in. With those things in mind, Candy Wonderland Playground is a sweet little adventure worth trying at least once.
