The first-ever SeaWorld in San Diego opened its doors on March 21, 1964 – and to commemorate that day, SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating in a major way! The party officially got started across the parks on Thursday, March 21, 2024 which is 60 years to the day that SeaWorld opened its gates for the first time in 1964.
The anniversary kick-off party will be in full swing into the weekend, continuing through Sunday, March 24, and anniversary celebrations will continue with more special events and experiences coming this summer.

SeaWorld Orlando is hosting a launch party March 21-24, 2024
To kick off the year-long 60th Anniversary celebration, SeaWorld Orlando will pay homage to the first SeaWorld park with a 4-day celebration at park open.

Opening Ceremony
Join SeaWorld’s Park President, Jon Peterson, each morning as he welcomes SeaWorld guests at the front of the park with the ultimate anniversary celebration, filled with live entertainment, commemorative décor, photo ops, and more!
This ceremony will be held when the park opens each day, Thursday – Sunday, March 21-24. You can even receive a cupcake, while supplies last.
All-New 60th Anniversary Food & Beverage
Guests will also have the chance to purchase exclusive 60th Anniversary culinary additions. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime celebration!
Park President, Jon Peterson announced that his favorite “Blue Chips” would be making a return for the celebration.
Shamu & Crew Character Meet and Greet
For the first time in recent years, see Shamu & Crew together again and take a commemorative photo with them.
Parents and kids will love meeting Shamu, Coral the Dolphin, Sydney the Shark, Shivers the Polar Bear, Puck the Penguin, and Flip the Sea Lion at park open each day March 21 – 24!
All-New 60th Anniversary Merch
Get ready for limited edition retro-inspired merchandise items featuring the original SeaWorld logo!
Special t-shirts, loungewear, trading pins, home décor, umbrellas, and more are available to celebrate the anniversary.

All-New Presentations & Shows
New exciting Cirque-style shows at SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Antonio and a live performance character show: Shamu and Crew – ‘Together Again’ at SeaWorld San Diego, will bring guests more exciting experiences.
SeaWorld Orlando will also see the return of Rescue Tails and an all-new character parade lead by none other than Shamu himself!

“Penguin Trek” – The New Immersive Family Coaster Coming Spring 2024
To add more excitement to 2024, SeaWorld Orlando is set to unveil the mesmerizing Antarctica Realm. We can’t wait for this coaster to join the line up of rides at SeaWorld Orlando.
This immersive experience will transport guests to the depths of the Antarctic region, offering an array of new food and drink options, a new retail store, the incredible penguin habitat and of course the thrilling family-launch coaster, Penguin Trek.
