The average American eats about 18 pounds of ice cream each year, or about 4 gallons, according to the International Dairy Foods Association. Honestly, my family members likely exceed these averages (self included)! And that’s easy to do in Orlando.

You see, our hometown has more than its fair share of yummy ice cream shops. So, if you’re looking for cool places to take your little sweeties, we’ve got the scoop!

Here are the best Orlando ice cream shops in Orlando, all serving unique, beat-the-heat treats.

Best Orlando Ice Cream Shops for Flavorful Fun

1. Sampaguita

  • 1233 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando (Mills 50)
  • Open Monday-Friday, noon-11pm; Saturday 11am-11pm; Sunday 11am-10pm

Already an epicenter for foodie families, the Mills 50 District gets even sweeter with Sampaguita Ice Cream. And this creamery is really the cream of the crop for family date night. The shop owners, Marie & Mo, say their company’s name pays homage to a Philippine folklore about lovers from different tribes who pledged their love with the words “Sumpa kita,” meaning “I promise you.” Awwww!

Well, we promise you that your family will love this place. The namesake flavor, Sampaguita, is almond vanilla bean ice cream with hints of jasmine and lychee. Those craving sweet and salty may prefer the Jackfruit Chili Nut, a jackfruit cream with roasted chili cashew nuts. Or, be tickled pink over the Ube Latte, a sweet purple yam ice cream swirled with espresso flavors.

FYI, they have single kids’ cups, but when visiting Sampaguita as a family, opt for the ice cream flight. This includes six full-size scoops plus six toppings.

2. Bacio Ice Cream Shop

  • Two locations: 8734 Lee Vista Blvd., Orlando (Lee Vista) & 9450 Narcoossee Rd Orlando (Lake Nona)
  • Open daily, 1-9pm

If ice cream making isn’t considered an art form… it should be. Because the melt-in-your-mouth masterpieces at Bacio are picture-perfect. Aside from being visually-appealing, expect your taste buds to be equally as impressed.

Because PB&J is the ultimate for kids, we suggest Bacio’s Honey Roasted Peanut Butter Ice Cream. And there are sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan options at this Orlando ice cream shop.

Check Bacio’s social platform for weekly deals, such as BOGO Wednesdays and happy hour specials.

3. The Greenery Creamery

  • 420 E. Church St. Unit 112, Orlando (Thornton Park) — Open Sunday-Thursday, noon-9pm & Friday/Saturday noon-10pm
  • 212 W. 1st St., Sanford (Downtown Sanford, within Henry’s Depot Culinary Collective) — Open Monday-Thursday, 11:30am-9pm; Friday/Saturday 11:30-10pm; Sunday 10:30am-8pm

Parent hack: When your kiddos are feeling blue, take them to The Greenery Creamery. The combination of sugar and fat in ice cream prompts the brain to release dopamine, which boosts mood and triggers a sense of satisfaction.

This Orlando ice cream shop on the cusp of Thornton Park serves both traditional dairy and vegan ice cream varieties, made with quality ingredients. The Greenery Creamery is all about artisan creations, dubbing itself “Orlando’s little ice cream boutique.” Customers rave about the Belgian Chocolate, concocted with imported Callebaut chocolate and Ghirardelli chocolate. But Cookie Monster is certainly a fan favorite among kiddos.

The Greenery Creamery is an Orlando ice cream shop for the whole family, including Fido. Yup, Pup Cups are also on the menu.

4. Crispý Cone

  • 2415 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando (Hourglass District)
  • Open Monday-Thursday, 2-11pm; Friday/Saturday 2pm-midnight; Sunday 2-10pm

Nestled in the Hourglass District, Crispý Cone claims to have revolutionized soft-serve ice cream. Already popular in Europe, this Orlando ice cream shop offers a fresh dough cone, first grilled rotisserie-style and then topped with either cinnamon and sugar or crushed Oreo cookies. You can experience this European-inspired treat without the chaos of boarding an international flight with children!

The cone is stuffed with soft-serve ice cream and top-notch toppings. Stick to classics, like vanilla, chocolate or strawberry, or branch out a bit with huckleberry. Delish!

5. Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream

  • Numerous Orlando area locations
  • Hours vary per location

Fun fact… Kelly, owner of Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, used to treat patients as a nurse; now she treats ice cream enthusiasts with deliciousness. And yes, ice cream makes one feel better (I’ve personally put it to the test)! Kelly’s began selling small-batch flavors at farmers’ markets and then opened its first shop in Audubon Park, specializing in craft ice cream and sorbet.

This Orlando ice cream company has greatly expanded; now with numerous ice cream shops in Orlando and beyond, like St. Augustine, Daytona Beach and Melbourne. The sweet experience at Kelly’s just never gets old, since there’s always something new to try as featured flavors rotate monthly.

In addition to seasonal flavors, the menu always features a wide selection of Kelly’s Originals, such as O-Dough and Banana Pudding. For those who can’t decide on just one flavor, opt for the ice cream flight featuring six scoops. Plus, Kelly’s also appreciates canine companions via Dog Pops.

6. Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery

  • 3213 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando
  • Open Monday–Thursday, 7:30am-8pm; Friday/Saturday 7:30am-10pm; Sunday 10am-8pm

Longtime residents of Central Florida are likely familiar with Charlie’s baked goods, such as assorted cookies, pies and pastries. Many local couples even ordered their wedding cakes from Charlie’s! Well, in recent years, Charlie’s has added premium ice cream. Amazingly, Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery won the Grand Master Ice Cream Maker Award at the 2025 North American Ice Cream Association’s annual Conecon Convention, so yeah, Charlie’s is undoubtedly among the best there is when it comes to Orlando ice cream options.

It’s no surprise that Charlie’s ice cream menu features bakery-themed flavors, like Cake Batter, Pistachio Baklava and Caramel Cookie Dough, plus many other yummy flavors. There’s also ice cream sandwiches, ice cream floats and ice cream pies.

7. Abracadabra Ice Cream Factory

  • 520 N. Main St., Kissimmee
  • Open daily, 11am-midnight

What could possibly make ice cream even more magical? Liquid nitrogen, according to ice cream wizards concocting customized scoops in Kissimmee. The process starts with a vanilla liquid, which can be transformed with syrups and fruit bases to create any flavor.

Then, an array of toppings ─ candy, coconut, nuts, chopped fruit, etc. ─ mix in and the words are spoken: “Abracadabra, alakazam, make that ice cream as best as you can.” With temperatures reaching 328 degrees below 0, “magic clouds” of liquid nitrogen flash-freeze the ice cream. Hokey? Maybe. Delicious? Definitely!

Create your own recipe or choose one of Abracadabra’s “ice cream suggestions,” like the Godfather (cheesecake, chocolate chips and graham cracker) or Party Time (birthday cake, marshmallow and rainbow sprinkles).

8. Frozen Cow

  • 1201 Vineland Rd., Winter Garden
  • Open Monday-Thursday, 1-9pm; Friday/Saturday 1-10pm; Sunday 1-8pm

Plant Street has plenty of opportunities for family fun but, when time allows, venture just five minutes beyond the historic district to find this old-fashioned Orlando ice cream shop. Celebrating more than a decade in business, Frozen Cow uses grade “A” cream, pure cane sugar and premium mix-ins in batch freezers without any growth hormones or high-fructose corn syrup. Somehow this “utterly” delicious ice cream is kind of good for you (wink wink)!

The menu is loaded with chunky classics, like Butter Pecan ice cream with Georgia pecans that have been roasted, buttered and salted. Plus, there are tons of other classic and original flavor options. But your family may be more intrigued by Frozen Cow’s other goodies, like the stuffed waffles and cookie sandwiches.

9. Rolled Ice Cream

  • 688 N. Alafaya Trl., Ste 104, Orlando (Waterford Lakes)
  • Open Monday–Thursday, 3-10pm; Friday/Saturday, 1-11pm; Sunday, 1-10pm

Nestled in Waterford Lakes, Rolled Ice Cream serves Asian-inspired ice cream. This includes taiyaki, a hot and fluffy, fish-shaped waffle filled with fruit, chocolate or savory fillings. Please skip the standard waffle cone to pair your ice cream with taiyaki. So fun!

Oh, and a bowl of rolled ice cream basically looks like an ice cream bouquet, which is so charming. Pretty and pretty tasty indeed. Rolled Ice Cream offers sugar-free and dairy-free options, too.

10. Lucciano’s

  • 8001 S. Orange Blossom Trl., Suite #426, Orlando (Florida Mall)
  • Open Monday-Thursday, 10am-8pm; Saturday 10am-9pm; Sunday 11am-7pm

The next time you’re shopping at the Florida Mall, snack at Lucciano’s, a unique Orlando ice cream shop. This gourmet gelato shop features luxurious flavors and plush cafe seating. To transport your taste buds to Italy, opt for a scoop of White Chocolate Pistachio Crunch, Hazelnut Cream Chocolate or Lemon Pie.

For a pop of fun, order one of Lucciano’s whimsically-designed ice cream pops. Some of these treats-on-a-stick are adorably shaped like iconic cartoon characters and other fun formations.

This Orlando ice cream experience is definitely elevated, so perhaps Lucciano’s is an ideal date night destination for teens.

11. Crazy Mason Milk Shake Bar & Ice Cream Shop

  • 5741 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee
  • Open Monday-Thursday, 1-10pm; Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 1-11pm

If your crazy kiddos really love ice cream, an outing to Crazy Mason may be the grand gesture you’re looking for. That’s because their milkshakes are uber grand. Picture a huge frosty mug filled with your favorite ice cream and embellished with toppings galore. Like totally and completely topped with toppings… donuts, cookies, candy, cupcakes and all the things.

Mint Chocolate is the favorite flavor for both of my boys, so may I suggest the Mint To Be crazy mason creation?! It’s a generous heaping of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream in a chocolate-swirled jar, with a chocolate fudge rim rolled in crushed Andes mints. Plus, it’s topped with a mint fudge brownie, crushed Andes mint and chocolate whipped icing.
