New Fun Spot Halloween Event in Orlando for Families

You don’t have to wait until the month of October to celebrate the spooky season with your little ghosts and goblins. In fact, you can kickstart your Halloween festivities in late September with a new Halloween event in Orlando for families. Fun Spot America is debuting FUNOWEEN, a seasonally-themed, family-friendly experience to be held at the company’s three theme park locations.

What to Expect at Fun Spot’s New Halloween Event in Orlando

FUNOWEEN begins on Monday, September 30th at both of Fun Spot’s Central Florida locations—Orlando and Kissimmee. [FYI, Fun Spot’s third park in Atlanta, Georgia].

FUNOWEEN will run through November 3, 2024.

Fun Spot is open daily and, for the duration of FUNOWEEN, operating hours are from 10am to 12am. That is, if you’re not petrified to push bedtime until midnight!

Technically, Fun Spot has free admission. Yes, you read that right. It’s comparable to carnival-style ticketing; you need to buy passes to enjoy the rides. A one-day pass costs $59.95 + tax. This grants unlimited access to the go-kart tracks, rollercoasters, thrill rides and kids’ rides, as well as access to the splash pad and Gator Spot. You can always upgrade to a season pass if you choose.

Additionally, Fun Spot offers a Chauffeur Pass for just $19.95, when a single day pass is also purchased for your kiddo. The Chauffer Pass allows adults to accompany their little ones on select rides if they’re under 54 inches.

FUNOWEEN presents an autumn atmosphere with pumpkin décor and ghostly music. Plus, guests are encouraged to snap “boo-tiful selfies” at monster-themed photo stations throughout the park. And some rides will adopt a Halloween theme too, like the Trick-or-Treat 500 (race cars) and Haunt Seat (normally the swinging Hot Seat).

To get your fill of FUNOWEEN, try Fun Spot’s new Fright Bites menu, which includes:

  • Ghostly Gator Bites
  • Sidewinder Snake Fries
  • Monster Gourmet Caramel or Chocolate-Dipped Apples
  • Green Slime ICEE
  • Pumpkin Head Punch
  • Long Skulland Iced Tea (alcoholic)

What about the FUNOWEEN Party Nights?

Every Saturday in October—5th, 12th, 19th and 26th—FUNOWEEN enhances its eerie environment with Party Nights. This includes:

  • A Trick-or-Treat Trail from 4–6pm (for ages 12 and under)
  • FUNOWEEN Dance Party from 6–9pm led by a deejay
  • Different weekend themes, including Ghoulish Game Night, Ambrose’s Scavenger Hunt, Monster ‘Ganza Costume Contest and Silly Spooky Pumpkin Decorating

When attending on these Saturday party nights, remember to bring trick-or-treat collection bags. Or you can purchase a reusable FUNOWEEN tote at the park. Of course, other FUNOWEEN-themed merchandise will also be for sale.

Plus, on Thursday, October 31, Fun Spot will host another trick-or-treat experience for children 12 and under from 4–6pm.

Know Before You Go to Fun Spot FUNOWEEN

Fun Spot has been an Orlando staple since 1997. Because it’s smaller than Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, it’s a manageable park experience.

Fun Spot Orlando boasts 31 rides, including the city’s first wooden roller coaster in its 31-ride collection. The Kissimmee park has 29 rides, including the world’s tallest SkyCoaster and Mine Blower, which is Florida’s only inverted wooden roller coaster.

Fun Spot has two water rides, the Bumper Boats and the Splash Pad.

Here are a few things to know before you go:

  • Parking is free!
  • Stroller rentals are available.
  • Leashed dogs are allowed.
  • Funhouse (at the Orlando park) requires closed-toe shoes. So, all flip-flop fans and Croc devotees should plan ahead… or just skip this one attraction.
  • Earlier this year, Fun Spot implemented a new age policy. An adult must accompany children under the age of 21 while in the park. So that means Fun Spot isn’t ideal for a teen night out.
