Wheel Park East in Casselberry: A Must-Visit for Kids with Bikes, Scooters, and Local Families on Wheels
For a few years now, many of us local parents have been peeking over the fences, waiting for the construction at Wheel Park East in Casselberry to finish. And now that it’s finally open, I can happily say—it was worth the wait.
This park isn’t your typical neighborhood spot. It’s a thoughtfully designed space just for non-motorized wheels—bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, and more. For toddlers and cautious beginners, there are a few places to learn. And for older kids ready to advance there skills, they’ve got a few places to challenge them. Even teens will enjoy it here.

An Ideal Place for Bike Skills
On our first visit, something incredible happened. My son bravely ventured on his bike without training wheels for the first time! Not only did he ride confidently on the flat loop, he worked up the courage to try the beginner pump track.

Before I knew it, he was sailing over the rollers on the advanced track like he’d been doing it for weeks. Watching him grow in confidence on this course made this park an instant favorite in my heart.
- Flat bike loop perfect for little riders just getting started
- Beginner pump track, anyone is welcome on the smaller beginner pump track, but advanced riders are encouraged to leave this area for young learners
- Advanced pump track, triple the size of the beginner track, with steeper hills and turns

What’s a Pump Track?
If you’re not familiar with pump tracks, here’s a quick explainer: a pump track is a looping circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to be ridden by “pumping”—using your body’s up-and-down motion rather than pedaling. It’s a fantastic way for kids to build skills, balance, and confidence.

Wheel Park East features two pump tracks: a beginner loop for newer riders and an advanced track with more challenging elements. Both tracks are marked clearly, and there’s good visibility for caregivers to watch from the sidelines.
Any non-motorized wheeled vehicles are welcome, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and more.
Park Features Families Will Appreciate
- Two pavilions with picnic tables for shade and rest
- One playground with adaptive equipment for ages 2–12
- Restrooms and a water fountain station
- Florida-Friendly flower garden with educational signage and QR codes
- Wide sidewalks that allow kids to continue riding between areas
- One-way directional riding on the pump tracks (counterclockwise)
- Two parking lots with plenty of space on most days

There’s not much shade yet since the trees near the playground are still young. The playground is a decent size, but not as large as other area playgrounds. The equipment is meant for ages 2-12, which is quite the age span. There is not a tot lot, but toddlers are able to play on most of the equipment. A large swing is available for visitors who utilize a wheelchair.

We also saw many families bringing their own camp chairs and setting up along the grassy hillside near the pump track. It’s a great way to stay close without crowding the edge of the course.
The Florida-Friendly garden is a lovely space to explore, and there are two picnic tables. Although there is no shade in this spot, it is wonderful in the morning or at sunset. Perfect for families who love the outdoors.

Safety Reminders
Helmets are not required but encouraged. Why would you want to ride without one? Additional safety gear is strongly recommended. Riders under age 10 must be supervised by a parent or guardian, and all users should ride within their skill level.
The track flows one way—counterclockwise—and features banked turns, rollers, and jumps. Motorized devices are not allowed, and everyone is expected to ride respectfully, stay in control, and be mindful of others.
Report any facility damage immediately to 407-262-7725.
